One of President Trump’s campaign promises was that he would build a new border wall. Of course, the left is doing everything in their power so that this wall is not built. While we know that the left would thwart Trump’s promises it is aggravating to see so many republicans joining the charge.
Many people have often wondered how the wall would be rebuilt. The United States and Mexico have debated who would fund the wall for months, and neither one plans on releasing. Then out of nowhere, a genius idea was formulated by Senator Ted Cruz who proposed an amazing bill. In the bill, Cruz proposed that cartel drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman billions of dollars be seized to pay for the wall.
Yes, the bill would solve all our problems, however, it stands little to no chance of ever passing. Which brings us to the latest budget deal that passed earlier this week. The mainstream media has been eagerly reporting that President Trump failed to receive the funds in order to build the new border wall. However, Vice President Mike Pence made an announcement yesterday that had everyone talking.
Mike Pence announced today on Twitter: “We achieved the largest increase in border security funding in 10 yrs, w/ enough money to make a down payment on the border wall.”
The good news didn’t end there, he had more a few minutes later on Twitter that was sure to brighten Americans’ day. “This budget bill, under @POTUS‘ leadership, also includes important health care resources for our great coal miners,” he Tweeted. A few minutes later, he announced that “There is no long-term bailout for the insurance companies that the Democrats wanted to subsidize the badly failing Obamacare.” He made one final statement, ending on a solid note, before closing his flurry of financial statements.
“After years of partisan bickering and gridlock, this budget bill is a clear win for the American people.”
In just over his first 100 days in office, Trump managed to get the biggest increase in border security funding than we saw within the last decade — which was mostly due to the gridlock the country was in because of the Barack Obama era. He received $1.51 billion to secure our border and finally get a solid start on it, which we can now see could happen in his first term after even conservatives were rightfully concerned that it wouldn’t.
Well, you would think that would shut the left down, but of course, it didn’t.
The left has been calling what Pence had to say and conservatives liars, but as it turns out they are the liars. In an explosive press conference, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney and Sean Spicer dismissed those lies quickly.
“You can call it a new wall, you can call it a replacement, you can call it maintenance, call it whatever you want to. The president’s priority was to secure the southern border, and that’s what this does,” Mr. Mulvaney said.
He showed reporters a photo of a chain-link fence that he said would be replaced with a 20-foot steel wall, at a cost of $8.5 million per mile.
“That’s what we got in this deal, and that’s what Democrats don’t want you to know,” he said.
You can watch the entire press conference here.
Oh, well that sounds much different than what the democrats are saying, right? Not too long after that, Sean Spicer posted on Twitter to show exactly what was happening on the southern border.
That looks like a border wall to me, how about you?
These liberals just do not know how to stop lying, do they? At any rate, while there is a lot to still fight against the funding for the wall is in place. I would have liked to see funding to Planned Parenthood axed, but we will have to fight that another day. The left cannot admit that they were defeated on the border wall and they will spin it so it appears that they won.
However, we know the truth. The wall has received funding that will give Trump a solid start. Hopefully, if we are lucky Senator Ted Cruz’s bill will pass which will give us the funding we need to build the wall.
Hey, it could happen. After all, the pundits did say that President Trump didn’t stand a chance, and we know how that turned out.
